Advancing the Mission of Public Health

FDA's mission of protecting public health touches every American. As this critical agency adapts to evolving mission requirements, budget constraints, and increased needs for data sharing and technical literacy, they must continue to serve the public, communicate critical health information to a variety of audiences, and develop and retain worldclass talent. Now is the time for a bold paradigm shift to deliver critical public health services and mission-driven innovation.

As technology, medicines, therapeutics, devices, and products evolve at a rapid pace, ICF partners with FDA to create purpose-built solutions that advance health outcomes.

FDA and ICF

A successful partnership in the dynamic world of public health takes experience and an appreciation for the workforce that brings the mission to life. We've helped FDA deliver efficient and high-quality services to America for over 15 years across multi-year contracts that drive outcomes across key federal programs.

Our interdisciplinary teams maximize efficiency and outcomes in public health by leveraging 40+ years of expertise in biomedical and clinical data, health systems modernization, data standards and coordination, health information communications, regulatory and policy, public health science and research, and workforce optimization.

Our approach

IT modernization

Through technology and program expertise, ICF helps FDA expand their role from a tech hub to business enabler, modernizing enterprise capabilities, and making smarter tech investments.

Effective communications

We help federal health agencies, like FDA and CDC, strengthen their voice in health by communicating in transparent and data-driven ways to stakeholders and the public, always prioritizing the health of our nation.

Workforce transformation

ICF has been a partner to FDA in enabling sustained cultural change that builds a more resilient, mission-driven federal workforce.

Public health on the front lines: A conversation about the social determinants of health

Environmental and contextual factors, or social determinants of health (SDOH), are the strongest predictor of health and well-being in children, families, and their communities—accounting for much of the variation in health outcomes and disparities we see across the country.

We brought together leading public health experts from the federal, state, and local levels to discuss the current federal landscape around SDOH—including the latest research and Administration priorities—and how to mitigate the negative effects of SDOH.
